The Schizophrenia Society of Alberta (SSA) is a not-for-profit organization that improves quality-of-life for Albertans affected by schizophrenia and related disorders. Kentwood Place, located in Red Deer, is one of SSA’s 3 housing programs that provide housing for people living with serious mental illness.

Reporting to the SSA Provincial Executive Director, the Housing Manager is responsible for ensuring all Kentwood protocols and Supportive Living Accommodation Standards are followed. The Housing Manager provides leadership and direction to staff in a positive and approachable manner.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensures Supportive Accommodation Standards are met
- Implements SSA’s policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all standards
- Ensures all tenants agreements and house rules are adhered to at all times
- Oversees the day-to-day operations including fiscal management, budgets, organizing building contracts/trades people and monitoring of the schedules/maintenance logs
- Supervises kitchen/housekeeping staff and conducts regular staff meetings
- Ensure that all worksites focus on person centered service delivery and promote a culture that is positive, flexible, creative, and respectful
- Assists tenants in accessing community resources and professional services
- Observes and reports changes in tenant’s level of functioning (both physical and mental) and level of participation in activities to the Alberta Health Services team
- Is familiar with the _Mental Health Act,_ The _Child Welfare Act_, the _Health Information Act,_ FOIPP, and other governing legislation
- Adheres to established protocols for safety, privacy and confidentiality

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A degree in the Human Services field
- 3 - 5 years experience in working with individuals living with schizophrenia or mental illness
- Minimum 3 years management experience
- Knowledge of supportive housing programs and services
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills: demonstrating the ability to build productive teams of staff performing varied functions
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure, multi-task conflicting demands, meet deadlines and work independently
- Demonstrates the ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
- Exceptional organizational skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and strong computer skills are essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A criminal record check is required
- Driver licence and vehicle required

Starting Salary: $52,000- 56,160 per annum (depending on experience) plus comprehensive benefits package
