**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Provincial Health Services Lead, the Secretary will work remotely to provide secretary support to the Provincial Chronic Disease Management ,Wellness Team and HealthyNS.The Secretary is accountable and responsible for providing administrative/secretarial support with mínimal supervision/direction. They are responsible for efficient prioritization of multiple responsibilities to meet the requirements of the department(s) utilizing initiative, judgment and knowledge in a highly confidential manner. The Secretary will be a key contact for the Chronic Disease Management and Wellness Team and will interface with staff, clients, the public and community agencies. The secretary will be responsible for performing the following duties:

- Register patients for provincial wellness programs
- Participate in QI initiatives and work to develop efficient and effective administrative processes
- Organize patient charts including scanning and uploading files and faxes as required
- Assist with the planning and organization of various meetings as requested by team
- Collect data, perform data entry and maintain program statistics and other relevant information as required
- Transcribe and distribute minutes of various committees and working groups as requested by team
- Provide program assistance which may include development of promotional materials, planning and coordination of launches, educational sessions and other special events as related to various projects.
- Other related duties as assigned.

This is primarily a remote position but may require the secretary to be on site periodically to complete specific duties. Some travel may be required.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Secretarial diploma and/or course from a recognized college or school of business plus a minimum of one year of related experience
- Working knowledge of patient registration and scheduling systems
- Demonstrated typing proficiency with a speed of 60 wpm required
- Computer literacy including demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Demonstrates an awareness of organizational and community needs
- Medical terminology preferred
- Experience in a health care setting preferred
- Experience working in Primary Health Care an asset
- Must be self-directed and adept at problem-solving while working with mínimal supervision
- Must have strong organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to prioritize upon short notice while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have strong collaboration skills and work well in a team environment
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Shifts are primarily Monday to Friday with some evenings and weekends required

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$20.25 - $22.50 Hourly
