**JOB SUMMARY**:
As a member of a highly motivated, dynamic, multi-disciplined team, the Mechanical Technician will lead the mechanical assembly of new product introduction (NPI) builds, manage the preventative maintenance program on all existing and new production equipment, and support production with the mechanical integration & installation of SuperTrak equipment as needed.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**NPI Assembly**
- Participate in product concept and rapid prototyping activity and provide design for manufacturing feedback
- Participate in digital assembly and initial drawing reviews and provide design for manufacturing feedback
- Help determine non-standard tooling, jigs & fixtures to support new product assembly
- Lead new product mechanical assembly
- Provide feedback on order of operations & assembly process
- Provide feedback on process & line layouts
- Participate in development of work instructions and training documentation

**Preventative Maintenance & Break-Fix**
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to support existing a new production equipment
- Manage the preventative maintenance program
- Determine and manage spare parts required to support production equipment
- Break-fix support of production equipment as required

**Production Support**
- Mechanical assembly and alignment of SuperTrak components for customers.
- Installation of SuperTrak components at customer sites (as needed).
- Support the needs of the manufacturing department when questions arise.
- Communicate and be a channel of any constructive or objective ideas that arise, helping to keep the manufacturing standards up-to-date and at the highest level.

**Additional Information**:
**SKILLS**:

- Ability to read and build from mechanical drawings
- Understand GD & T and where to apply.
- Must be able to recognize function and relationship of all details within assemblies.
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
- Electrical problem-solving skills an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with mínimal supervision.

**Qualification & Experience**
- Previous mechanical assembly experience required
- Machining, tool maker and/or millwright experience an asset

**Physical Requirements**:
May be required to stand at workstations for prolonged periods of time. May be required to perform a wide range of movements including bending, crawling, kneeling, etc. May be required to lift up to 80lbs. Use of hand tools requires significant manual dexterity.
