**Term of Employment: As Soon As Possible to August 31, 2025**
**Hourly Rate: $28.61 to $37.88**
**Location: Pembina Campus**
**Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)**
Reporting to the Program Manager, Health, Human Services, and Applied Business, the Clinical Lab Assistant will be responsible for supporting health simulation, computer, and classroom learning activities for the Medical Office Assistant, Health Care Aide, and Rehabilitation Assistant programs. This position may also assist with classroom learning activities in the Pharmacy Technician program.**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Supports simulation learning activities under the direction of the instructor and through technical skill demonstrations, exam invigilation, and student evaluation assistance.
- Supervises practice activities, demonstrates clinical procedures, and provides corrections under the direction of the instructor.
- Provides individual, small group and large group academic support under the direction of the instructor.
- Oversees practice activities, reinforce practical components and safety procedures, and provide direction and correction as required.
- Prepares the classroom and simulation laboratory environment (including equipment and supply set-up) for different learning activities.
- Maintains lab supplies, coordinates annual equipment servicing and repairs, and performs laundering duties.
- Ensures a safe work environment by complying with WHMIS regulations, reinforcing safe patient handling protocols, and adhering to lab rules and other MITT policy and procedures.
- Reinforces MITT and classroom policies to students.
- Fosters a co-operative, respectful working relationship with the instructor and work within the parameters of this position.
- Lifts and move items such as supplies and equipment weighting up to 25lbs.
**Required and Preferred Qualifications/Experience**:
- Science, kinesiology, medical office assistant, or health care educational background
- Minimum of 2-years’ clinical experience in the health care field
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, inventory management, record-keeping, multitasking, and time management skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Participatory, learner-centered philosophy
- Accountability mindset
- Accuro software skills is considered an assess but not required.
