Freelance Contract Position for an Onsite IT Generalist to help with end user desktop support while we grow our client base. We're looking for an hourly freelance person to be available within 2-4hours of receiving a request. As the company client base grows, this position would evolve into a full-time position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Onsite IT Support in the GTA area. Some remote support could be required.
- Hardware replacement as well as software installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting and security.
- Physical networking functions such as running networking cables between computer stations, servers, switch for the purposes of networking computers.
- Analyze and investigate IT related issues and provide solutions that best suit the client.
- Installing physical equipment (i.e. networking patch panels, wifi access point, racks or rack enclosures)
- Testing and error checking of solutions
- Data backups and Restorations
- Provide recommendations as necessary for the general health of the equipment
- Provide technical documentation and/or materials upon request or as necessary
- Follow-up with Customer after the solution has been implemented

- Practical knowledge of internal components of workstations and servers to include motherboards, ram, hard drives, video, sound, I/O.
- Practical knowledge of accessories including keyboards, pointing devices, scanners, printers, networking devices, routers, wireless devices, and security devices.
- Practical knowledge of assembly, disassembly and maintenance of all hardware components.
- Practical knowledge of Windows OS to include installation, recovery, setup and updating
- Practical knowledge of all anti-viral, security and firewall technologies including installation, setup, recovery and updating
- Practical knowledge of most major software suites for office use including Microsoft Office 365.
- SharePoint knowledge is an asset
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset
- Trouble shooting skills in operating systems vs. hardware components such as Hyper-V and VMware
- Trouble shooting skills in Windows OS installation and reinstallation
- Trouble shooting skills in failed hardware identification
