Linux Systems Administrator

Position Overview:
We are seeking a self-professed geek to join our Operations team. You will be supporting our corporate IT infrastructure and our North American 24/7 hospitality systems. You will work closely with development and engineering in system and software deployments, troubleshooting and problem-solving in a DevOps culture on the Operations Team.

The position requires a love, if not obsession, of technology and a fearlessness when faced with new challenges.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide operations support for corporate IT infrastructure and remote production systems:

- In-house and remote support of Linux (and some Windows) workstations
- Scripting for task optimization
- Maintaining our fleet of Android tablets
- Maintain system monitoring and respond to incidents
- Maintain security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
- Help perform business continuity operations (ie: disaster avoidance/disaster recovery)
- Investigate and troubleshoot hardware and software failures

Technical Requirements:

- Knowledge of Debian-based Linux
- Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash)
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of information security fundamentals
- Knowledge of database fundamentals

Nice to Have:

- Knowledge of infrastructure management and automation systems, such as Ansible
- Experience with programming
- General knowledge of MDM solutions
- Knowledge of SSH, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/LXC/LXD
- Knowledge of the Android operating system and ADB commands
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS

Prerequisites:

- Strong analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills
- **Passion to learn and utilize new technologies**:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Compensation:

- Salary commensurate with experience. Health benefits and stock options participation
