This role oversees all matters pertaining to the proper day-to-day functioning of the facility, including management of kitchen, banquet service and maintenance / housekeeping staff, event management, management and monitoring of facility maintenance and Health and Safety priorities, and ensuring cost-effective facility operations and events.

**Job Duties**

Oversees the proper day-to-day functioning of the Recreation Centre facility - ensures that the facility is kept up to proper standards of safety, maintenance and housekeeping, and in a state that is presentable and usable to members / the public at all times; ensures adequate staff levels and scheduling for all of the facility's daily activities and special events; monitors and maintains inventory levels for all facility activities.

Plans, coordinates and manages the logistics of all special events / functions that occur at the Recreation Centre:

- Communicates with clients / event conveners to understand their needs and plan an event to their specifications;
- Prepares and obtains the necessary signatures on all event contracts, and collects advance deposits;
- Coordinates with internal and external parties, as necessary, to manage all logístical and administrative aspects to ensure a seamless and cost-effective event for the client and event participants; and
- Generates accurate and complete final event invoice, gratuity and, labour sheets at the conclusion of each event.

Provides leadership, guidance and direction to a team of 15 - 25 kitchen, banquet service and maintenance / housekeeping staff, and makes decisions with respect to hiring, training, coaching / performance management, scheduling, and workload distribution.

Manages vendor relationships with building and recreation service providers (e.g. snow removal, landscaping, plumbing, electrical, entertainment, decorators, etc.), from obtaining quotations for services to ensuring service level agreement terms are performed as contracted.

Provides input to the Recreation Centre budgeting process, to ensure cost-effective operations and events, and accurate forecasting of planned expenditures for the facility.

Works in conjunction with Finance, Marketing, Member Services and the WRPA Board to fulfill the organization's common goal of providing excellent service to members and the public.

Where required, assists Banquet, Bar and Kitchen staff in providing service to members and the public.

**Qualifications**
- College Diploma, preferably in hospitality / hotel management, or combination of equivalent experience and training / education
- Smart Serve Certificate
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years in hospitality and / or event management
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory / people management experience

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
