Hydrovac Operator

**Seeking 2 operators for work in the Edmonton area.**

We are looking for people who can work safely and efficiently to install telecommunication infrastructure on both public and private property according to company and client specifications.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Safe operation of hydrovac equipment and other tools required for installation and of shallow utilities.
- Complete and submit required vehicle inspections, log books, BOL's, and FLHA's daily.
- Use of both hand tools and power tools such as tampers, saws, shovels, rakes, tampers, etc., to assist in directional drilling as required.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, complete FLHA’s
- Assist in identifying and correcting worksite hazards.
- Read locates for water, gas, and other underground services.
- Work to ensure safe equipment operating guidelines are met.
- Wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required by client, legislation or company policy.

**Qualifications**:

- Physically fit and able to bend, kneel, climb, and lift (up to 50 lbs).
- At least 1 year experience operating a hydrovac in urban areas around shallow utilities, traffic and pedestrians for all operating positions.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
- Firm understanding of underground utility locates.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have a strong work ethic.

**Position Requirements**:

- Valid driver’s license minimum Class 3. (preference for class 1)
- 3 year commercial drivers abstract.
- CSTS training certification
- Ground Disturbance Training (LVL2)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Spruce Grove, AB

Expected start date: 2024-05-01
