Vertex Resource Group is currently hiring a Breathing Air Technician based out of our Nisku location. We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and skilled individual that has a high attention to detail and is self-motivated and can work well on their own.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong organizational skills and problem solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Must have the following certifications:

- Supplied Air Respirator and Personal Airline Systems Level 2 Dräger’s PAS® Micro, PAS® Colt or PAS® Lite
- Honeywell Gas Detection Monitor Training
- Experience with breathing air compressors, cascade systems and refilling packs and bottles
- Reliable transportation

RESPONSIBILITES
- Maintain quality assurance program for all Vertex respiratory equipment
- Order appropriate replacement parts through direct manager as required for project
- Maintain and repair all respiratory equipment after project completion
- Organize, stock, and take inventory of trailers and equipment going to job sites.
- Prepare and load equipment into trailers as directed for each project
- Upon project return, unload all respiratory equipment and locate in appropriate storage room
- Follow all rules and regulations as per the OH&S Code, Vertex guidelines, and client specific codes of practice
- Inspect, inventory and document breathing air equipment, in according to manufactures instructions, to ensure all equipment is ready to use. This inspection is to be conducted prior to leaving the shop, upon arrival at location, daily (start of each shift) and once the equipment is returned to the Shop
- Ensure all gas detection and breathing air apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes a function test. Must have the ability to set up and dismantle both breathing air systems and gas detection equipment
- Demonstrate and encourage a positive safety culture, where safety is a vital element to every task
- Must have the ability to effectively work as a team member during critical tasks. This includes the ability to problem solve, utilizing interpersonal skills while always maintaining a level of professionalism
- Additional duties as required
