**Position Summary**
The Nutrition Services department is currently seeking a Casual Diet Technician to join their team.

**Department/Unit/Program Description**
The department of Nutrition Services recognizes the patients we service as our primary client. We direct our department resources toward their care by providing high quality, safe, nutritious food along with high standards of nutritional care by qualified nutritional staff. The principle function which allows the department to meet our purpose is through patient satisfaction by offering a variety of quality food and excellent service to our patients. We produce food under safe, sanitary conditions and foster a multidisciplinary approach with all departments in the best interest of patient care.
**Essential Qualifications**
- Graduate of Food Supervisor Course or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
- Current knowledge of special diets in accordance with Ontario Diabetic Association and Ontario Hospital Association guidelines
- Current knowledge of Canadian Health and Welfare Nutrition Guidelines
- Demonstrated communication, organization and time management skills
- Familiarity with current policies and procedures related to Food Production and Nutritional Standards
- Demonstrated attention to accuracy and detail
- Current knowledge of WHMIS, HACCP, and Health and Safety standards
- Willingness to take hospital approved courses
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirement of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience coordinating and directing activities of staff, preferably in a health care setting
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Familiarity with computers, i.e. ESP, EPIC Electronic Charting, Word, Excel, Synergy on Demand
- Ontario Society of Nutrition Management
- Current membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
**Hours of Work**
Normal hours of work include a variety of shifts, Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement. Current shifts are between 0600 and 2000 hours.
