**The Public Works Department summer students will**:
- Be part of a dynamic team responsible for keeping Bracebridge beautiful and safe by assisting with maintaining parks, trails, and associated facilities by making sure they are clean and safe for use.
- Keep our roadways safe by performing general maintenance including grass cutting, tree trimming, vegetation control, litter collection, and painting.
- Participate in projects such as culvert installation and perform maintenance operations including traffic control.
**This position reports to the department Foreperson(s) and is expected to start**
**April 29, 2024, and end August 30, 2024.**
**We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic, customer service focused, and who has the following**:
- Enrollment in full-time, post-secondary studies for the 2024/2025 school year.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with members of the public, coworkers and others in a friendly, courteous and effective manner.
- Experience with the safe operation and handling of equipment and tools such as grass trimmers, lawnmowers and hand tools, and cleaning products.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G2 or Class G) with an acceptable, current driver’s abstract.
- Ability to provide an acceptable criminal record check.
- Available to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends and evenings.
**Job Types**: Contract, Full-time
Contract length: 4 months
**Salary**: $17.85-$18.87 per hour

- 8 hour shift
