**ASSISTANT BUYER**

Provides support to the buyer by providing timely analysis and participating actively in all aspects of the product lifecycle, with the ultimate goal of developing on brand product that drives sales.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participates in the selection and development of our products and collections;
- Assists the buyer in market analysis and decision-making;
- Analyzes assigned product categories and proposes appropriate action plans;
- Participates in negotiations with certain suppliers to enter into product purchase agreements, including development, manufacturing, price, discounts, credit terms and transportation;
- Assures the analysis and management of the assortment plan for the assigned categories;
- Ensures follow-up of deliveries and transportation with the internal teams;
- Ensures that production samples are an accurate representation of the approved sample;
- Creates collection & product assortment line boards;
- Participates in the product selection process for marketing requests;
- Verifies that the inventory levels of the advertised products in the store are sufficient for the period referenced;
- Ensures the integrity of the brand with respect to our descriptions (packaging, product knowledge, etc.);
- Collaborates with operations and visual presentation departments to plan and optimize store space;
- Regularly visit local stores and competitors;
- Performs other related tasks.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- College diploma in Fashion Marketing or equivalent;
- 3-5 years of experience in a related position in the retail industry, ideally in the fashion or home decoration fields;
- Bilingual French/English, both written and spoken;
- Business acumen, oriented towards results and developed analysis skills;
- Good management of priorities in a context of tight production deadlines;
- Attentive to detail;
- Fashion sense and appreciation for home décor;
- Good mathematical skills;
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word for Windows;
