The Event & Food Services Associate would be responsible to help coordinate events for the museum or clients of the museum. Event & Food Services duties may include assisting a more-experienced event client services manager and café & catering manager as they plan and coordinate special events. Your job responsibilities may involve working with vendors, renting and setting up the venue, and preparing the logistics of the event, conference, convention, or meeting and assisting with general duties in our café & catering department. Your duties may also include meeting with a client or vendor to work out the exact details and requirements for the event.

**Job Duties**
- Adhere to and enforce all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, and company policies and procedures
- Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the company dress code and/or wearing the company uniform
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times
- Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately
- Greet customers with a smile and answer their questions as required
- Proactively attend to customer complaints in a professional manner
- Advise customers on event food and beverage choices, making suggestions when necessary
- Meet with customers and ensure they are given all options available on event planning
- Maintain familiarity with the composition of all event and catering menus
- Assist in setting table established standards, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair
- Assist in cafe cashier responsibilities and general duties in café.
- Event set up and maintaining catering area including dish order management
- Other duties relating to department responsibilities as required

**Job Requirements**
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Degree or diploma in the food services industry
- Minimum of one year of experience in the food services industry
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated time management skills
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment

**Work Conditions**
