Position Summary

As a Production Technician in our Plant Operations group, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the multi-million dollar state-of-the-art security printing equipment that is used to print a variety of highly secure identification products, such as driver licenses and identification cards, Permanent Residency cards, etc. If you are problem-solver with a knack for troubleshooting and an eye for optimization, you'll thrive in this dynamic role within our high-volume production environment.

What You Will Do
- Ensure that all production equipment is maintained, and all preventative maintenance schedules are followed so that each piece of machinery achieves maximum uptime while performing to the quality and throughput standards that ensure customer SLAs are achieved;
- Stay abreast of changes and adjustments made to the software and machinery. Ensure equipment and related systems are calibrated to the correct product, quality standards and production standards to ensure quality standards and department KPI’s are met.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues and develop solutions by reading equipment schematics or leveraging your electro-mechanical, pneumatic or vision system knowledge to ensure operational efficiency;
- Effectively communicate and document (in detail) all adjustments made to the production equipment, so there is a record for your colleagues and manager to refer to that will help them understand what and why changes were made;
- Install, test and develop training plans for new equipment. Work closely alongside the Manufacturing Engineering team and assist in writing test plans and then testing the machinery prior to deploying for live production; and
- Various other duties and responsibilities.

**Qualifications**:
Knowledge and Experience
- College diploma or equivalent related experience in one or more of the following fields:

- Manufacturing, engineering, electromechanics, mechatronics, automation, robotics, etc.
- Familiarity with quality management principles, practices and tools (asset)
- Familiarity with/ability to read electrical schematics (asset)

Skills and Abilities
- Computer literacy
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Organization/time management skills

Mandatory Requirements
- Able to work a variety of shifts (front end/back end (includes weekends); days/nights)
- Ability to work on-call and overtime when required
- Ability to work on your feet for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs
- Ability to travel within North America approx.. 3-5 weeks of the year.

Security Clearance Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret Level II personal security clearance
