**The Position**:
**Responsibilities**:
The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Assess and determine the monthly financial closing procedure in order to define the necessities for digital transformation. This includes examining account reconciliations for several companies as well as intercompany accounting.
- Gather the reporting and needs of all stakeholders to assess, select, and evaluate technologies that effectively tackle the business challenges.
- Assess and design financial reports in collaboration with the controllers, while also automating the processes for reporting, analysis, and dashboard generation.
- Automate the annual planning process, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Convert financial systems, as necessary, to platforms well suited to meet the growing needs of the various business units.
- Aligning business and financial processes with lean management principles.
- Assisting the controllers and director of financial planning and analysis with data analysis, data aggregation, and data sharing.
- Backfilling controller requirements as needed.

**Required Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, IT, information sciences or other relevant field (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Minimum 3 years experience in public accounting, financial reporting, and/or finance.
- Strong commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements and emerging technologies to seek out, identify and action opportunities that will lead the digital transformation of Mara and its affiliates.
- Capable of spearheading change initiatives, crafting a distinct vision, and motivating others to embrace change to enhance business processes.
- Ability to summarize complex and technical details into communications that are easily understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, along with the ability to listen, build relationships based on respect and trust, professionally persuade, and lead highly specialized technical teams, while engaging cross-functional professionals and executives in your delivery.
- Demonstrated self-starter that can thrive in past-paced, dynamic and deadline driven atmosphere.
- Exceptional organization skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and self-manage.
- Familiarity with accounting systems (i.e., Xero, Sage X3, Sage Intacct).

**Desired skills and experience**:

- CPA Designation is highly preferred.
- Experience in biotechnology industry and/or a growing entrepreneurial organization would be considered a strong asset.
