**Summary**
The Human Resource Co-op provides assistance to Human Resource and administration functions within all departments. Provides support to the Human Resource department as requested by management, which can include, data entry, file maintenance, as well as participation in the recruiting process.
**Job Duties**
- Perform customer service functions by answering general phone calls, and responding to messages within one business day
- Recommend new policies and procedures to effect company improvements and organizational efficiencies.
- Assist with full cycle recruitment and interview process.
- Check prospective employee references.
- Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the Director of HR.
- Make photocopies, fax documents and perform other clerical functions.
- File papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
- Assist on and prepare correspondence.
- Prepare new employee files.
- Assist with updating training material
- Greet guests and clients professionally and offering beverage upon entry
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Education, Experience, and Qualifications**
- Enrolled in or a recent grad of a Human Resources post-secondary program, or equivalent experience
- Able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong written, and verbal skills.
- Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff privacy.
- Knowledge of principles, theories, and techniques related to job classification, job analysis, and job descriptions.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Ability to use general office equipment.
- Professional appearance and manners.
**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
