Stores Team Leader

**Essential Functions**:
- Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
- Develop and maintain departmental safety rules and safe work practices ensuring that each Team Member is working in a safe environment.
- Take a leadership role in promoting product quality, employee development and cost reduction initiatives.
- Work with transportation partners to develop procedures to ensure claim free, on time delivery of product from suppliers.
- Plan and supervise the activities of the Stores department and personnel.
- Monitor daily inbound schedule to make sure we have the capacity to provide on time receiving and ensure all paperwork is done within 24h after the physical inbound.
- Audit and Review SOP for stores responsibilities.
- Manage the warehouse storage areas ensuring that we have the capacity to stock the proper mix of products in the proper environment / conditions.
- Manage departmental expenses to meet department budgets. Work with department employees to create cost reduction / avoidance projects.
- Diligently report expenses using the company credit card.
- Review and monitor departmental equipment and supplies to make sure that they are available and in proper working order.
- Maintain an open line of communication with all manufacturing departments. Work with the Production Scheduler for direct materials and consumables planning.
- Develop lines of communication with production scheduling enabling us to develop warehousing plans that will meet product mix requirements for warehousing.
- Work with departmental hourly Team Members to improve work procedures and enhance productivity.
- Work with other "sister" plants on common transportation, warehousing and case closure issues.
- Establish and maintain 5S / Housekeeping system. Work with supervisors and hourly employees to ensure plant housekeeping meets or exceed standards.
- Implement Kaizen projects and ensure to promote these standards to the salaried employees.
- Ensure good implementation of SAP for materials department, regarding stores documents, planning schedules, cycle count, warehouse, inventory, inbound, consigned.
- Set up new stores parts.
- Ensure cycle count policies and procedures are carried out routinely.
- Measure and improve stores metrics: Stock outs, Inventory Accuracy etc.
- Evaluate and recommend inventory levels, min and max levels.
- Responsible for managing the repair process for motors, gears, and other repairable items.
- Responsible for making repair versus buy decisions on inventoried items.
- Assist Central Purchasing in preparing quote packages as requested.
- Investigate and assist in reconciling discrepancies as they relate to on hand inventories.
- Assist in resolution of receiving discrepancies and blocked invoices.
- Devise and implement Continuous Improvement plans and activities.
- Identify and record any problems relating to defective product, process and quality system. Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Prepare SOP for the new SAP implementation at Collingwood.
- Assist cycle counts at raw materials.
- Support materials team when needed.
- Other Duties as assigned.

**Qualifications Required**:
- University degree or College Diploma in related field
- 3 - 5+ years SAP experience.
- 5 to 7 years related experience in purchasing or stores department.
- Experience working in automotive manufacturing and unionized environment.
- Perform tasks using good judgement.
- Ability to reason through problems and plan tasks and possess a sound understanding of inventory control.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong negotiating and problem solving skills. Ability to plan and supervise the day-to-day activities of the employees the incumbent is responsible for.
- Computer and software proficiency - including strong knowledge of MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in teams, multi-task, and take leadership responsibility on projects
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines.
**Qualifications Desired**:
- Six sigma certification (green belt)
- Previous glass experience
- Automotive / TS16949 experience
- SAP experience
- Advanced MS Excel experience
