Destination Canada is looking for a **Co-op Marketing Lead** to join our Vancouver team as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.

As part of the Global team, this role, initiates, manages and executes coop marketing activities with strategic trade and industry partners.

The individual project manages the execution of tactical plans, ensuring activities and campaigns developed with third parties are delivered on budget, within established timeframes, meet the Canada brand needs and obtain target KPIs.

The marketing plans developed and implemented are cross-channel, integrated third-party partnership marketing plans that include multiple types of media from both parties - paid, earned (media relations & PR), and owned (website and social). The individual must ensure these various components are integrated, including ensuring content, editorial, creative, and media plans support the market plan and objectives. This requires significant collaboration across departments, working closely with content and media teams, the travel trade partner and on occasion, external agencies.

This role will coordinate activities through a cross-functional “squad” of specialists dedicated to their market and manage day-to-day activities and decisions. This requires people skills such as leadership, influence, diplomacy and negotiation.

**DUTIES**: The role leads the development of marketing plans and tactics in collaboration with third-party trade and industry partners to promote Canada as a travel destination in one or more geographic markets. Manages the execution of marketing plans with strategic partners to achieve target KPIs. Reports on performance to key stakeholders and implements adjustments to optimize performance.
- Leads the development of strategic co-op marketing plans across one or more markets
- Leads the development of tactical plans to achieve market strategy objectives
- Coordinates with a cross-functional team to manage the execution of marketing tactics and campaigns
- Reports on performance, provides recommendations and implements adjustments
- Leads supplier and agency management for the market(s)
- Leads partner engagement and collaboration for the market(s)

Essential Qualifications

**EDUCATION***:Undergraduate education in Marketing (or other related field) or equivalent training and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing/communications
- Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing plans
- Experience managing integrated cross-channel marketing campaigns
- Experience managing multi-party marketing campaigns with external stakeholders
- Experience in the Canadian tourism industry is an asset

**KNOWLEDGE**:

- Knowledge of marketing and communications principles and practices
- Knowledge of diverse marketing channels, including paid media, content marketing, media/public relations
- Knowledge of agency models for marketing, branding, strategy, design and media buying
- Knowledge of the latest marketing tactics and technology
- Knowledge of the Canadian tourism industry is an asset
