Come join our Transportation Team We are currently hiring for a **Transportation Department Assistant**. Reporting to the Manager, Transportation, you will be responsible for providing overall administrative assistance to the department, as well as ensure our transportation files and records are accurate and up to date. This key work will contribute to our operations running smoothly and to our Dealers receiving their freight on-time.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Collect and maintain Truck Driver records to ensure compliance to transportation regulations.
- Enter Driver trip reports and ensure data related to kilometers, pick-ups, and deliveries are accurate in our internal system.
- Collect data and put together various reports related to our Drivers and other departmental needs. For instance, Truck Driver incident/accident reports, and KPIs for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Register and maintain a list of our commercial vehicles.
- Generate documents, memos, PowerPoint presentations and correspondence as required.
- Support payroll processes/tasks related to our Drivers by collecting key data from trip reports to calculate kilometers, pick-ups, and deliveries. Work with various spreadsheets and internal software to enter and validate data.
- Responsible for purchase order creation, invoice processing, and detailed record keeping of monthly/annual department costs.
- Answer phones and assist with inquiries from Drivers, Dealers, and Vendors.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- College diploma in Business Administration or Supply Chain and/or 1-2 years of related experience.
- Understanding of transportation industry and knowledge of Home Hardware’s shipping/delivery procedures would be considered an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Home Hardware’s internal software and systems would be beneficial.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision as well as play an active role within the team.
- Ability to multi-task with superior attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt within a fast-paced office environment.
