The Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and PDIs on a variety of equipment that is represented by JJE in a timely and effective manner.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Apprentice Heavy Equipment or Truck & Coach Technician (Level 3 or 4)
- Chassis experience considered an asset
- Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
- Exposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract - DZ considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner
- Team player and willing to assist others when required
- Attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Critical thinker with ability to execute aspects of work independently
- Proficient with computers

**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES**:

- Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
- Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
- Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
- Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service van
