The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in 14 countries and 3 regions over a seven-year period (2020-2027).
The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.
**Here’s what your daily life will look like**:
In close collaboration with the Oxfam team members, the advisor will contribute to:
- Develop a comprehensive Monitoring-Evaluation-Accountability
- Learning (MEAL) framework that aligns with the strategic plan and projects of the Widows and Orphans Movement (WOM)
- Assist and provide capacity support to WOM’s staff on the MEAL framework and its use
- Establish a MEAL team to ensure its effective implementation and monitoring
- Help conduct a scoping study to find what MEAL solution will be relevant in addressing the organization's programs and projects
- Prepare activity reports, quarterly and annual reports on interventions
**For this mandate you must**:
- Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada
- Possess a university degree in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, or other relevant fields
- Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience related to this mandate
- Have experience in using MEAL software and data analysis
- Be experienced with capacity building and training
- Be fluent in English, spoken and written (required)
- Master the Microsoft Office Suite
**What we offer**:
- Monthly allowance for your current expenses
- 20% increases in the living allowance for one accompanying
child (maximum of 2 children)
- $1,500 CAD per year/child for school fees
- A monthly amount for the rent
- Round trip airfare with 2 checked baggage
- Round trip airfare for the accompanying child(s)
- $200 CAD for additional baggage
- Advantageous medical insurance for you and the accompanying child(s)
- A volunteer support program during your term and up to two months after your
return to Canada
- 20 vacation days and other leave
- Access to various courses (E-Learning, etc.)
