**Who We Are**:
Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present-day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson’s Landing, and Squamish River watershed. The Squamish Nation has occupied and governed the territory since beyond recorded history. The Squamish Nation's culture is rich and resilient. We continue to practice our customs and traditions, which are strongly interconnected with our traditional territory. Together with our lands, our customs and traditions are the foundations of who we are as Skwxwú7mesh.
As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 12 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.

**About The Opportunity**:
**What You Bring**:

- Combination of education and experience.
- A Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or other fields of study from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Works collaboratively with diverse stakeholders (internal and external) and understands the concepts of collective responsibility and ownership.
- Use of analytical approach driven by data and metrics, with the ability to spot patterns and trends and adjust accordingly.
- Handles sensitive issues with diplomacy and confidentiality providing recommendations and strategies to approach these issues and develop effective communications to support, ensuring the integrity of confidential and strategic information.
- Demonstrates political acuity, analytical and judgment skills, and tact, as well as experience managing highly complex and politically sensitive files.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven record of accomplishment in anticipating needs and demands at all levels of a project.
- Adaptable, flexible, and agile; can adapt to complexity and work in an ever-changing environment with ease.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- High level of empathy, emotional intelligence, humility, and the capacity to give and receive feedback.
- Understanding of issues affecting Indigenous communities.
- Team-oriented with a tactful and approachable attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Independent and self-motivated; demonstrates a strong ability to manage and execute their work.
- Team player who leads by example and goes the extra mile to ensure projects are delivered within deadlines.
- Respectful of confidentiality and handles sensitive information with care.

**Salary**: $ 100,477 - $ 114,179 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
