Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA), this position supports the continuous improvement of flight safety at Porter Airlines by performing functions related to the Flight Data Analysis Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Operate the Flight Data Analysis software on a daily basis, ensuring system and data availability and integrity. Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
- Assist the Manager, FOQA in the collection, analysis, and reporting processes for the Flight Data Analysis Program
- Ensure all Flight Data Analysis Program data is validated prior to further analysis
- Use reactive, proactive and predictive methodologies to analyze flight data, identifying trends and monitoring exceedances
- Prepare presentations and analysis packages to mitigate risk and identify trends
- Adhere to procedures and confidentiality protocols for the provision of flight data to other company departments including Flight Operations and Technical Operations
- Participate in the specification, implementation and ongoing development of the Flight Data Analysis Program
- Adhere to all processes and procedures outlined in Porter’s SMS Manual and FOQA Manual
- Act with integrity to maintain the confidentiality of organizational safety reporting systems and information acquired in the course of Flight Data Analysis duties
- Participate in periodic departmental safety meetings
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understanding, complying with and promoting the Company Safety Policy and Non-Punitive Reporting Policy
- Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- University degree and/or acceptable combination of education, training and/or related work experience
- Previous data analysis or algorithm development experience required—flight data analysis experience preferred
- Previous experience in monitoring performance of systems and operations against safety policies, procedures and operating manuals
- Ability to read and comprehend documents, regulations and technical manuals related to a variety of operational areas
- Extensive theory of flight knowledge and familiarity with commercial flight operations—pilot experience preferred
- Excellent time management and verbal communication skills; accuracy and keen attention to detail
- Integrity, discretion and self-reliance are key attributes
- Ability to secure restricted airport security clearance
- Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination
