**Position Overview**

**In this challenging and rewarding role you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities**:

- Assisting Kitchen Managers with a variety of tasks as assigned
- Familiar with prevailing edition of NFPA, ULC codes
- Hands-on and good understanding of suppression hardware and electrical equipment working principles
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Create stock list for all material required throughout the project
- Assist with estimating
- Attend site visits for site surveys for estimating, project set up and design and engineering of projects
- Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work
- Maintain design historical records and historical records for all functions for future use
- Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers' expectations
- Coordinate with other departments within office to assist with Kitchen suppression service requirements
- Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements
- Ensure proper staffing is in place on each project
- Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements
- Make sure change orders/change estimates are completed in timely manner
- Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintenance of a positive cash flow
- Continually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines
- Assist/lead during field check stage of the project
- Forecast future manpower requirements
- Oversee work of subcontractors
- Ensure work complies with codes and permits
- Review construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information.
- Through use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities
- Prepare, log, review and process appropriate paperwork/permits/documents for projects
- Involved in all areas of project closeout, including archiving documents, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, warranty work etc.
- Administer construction contracts, approve work quality and payment requests
- Report to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modifications required
- Recommend improvements in project management procedures and overall company business practices
- 1-2 years of project coordination experience, preferably Fire Protection Industry
- Valid G class drivers license with clean drivers abstract
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written a must
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Fire Sprinkler Industry or Construction Industry experience an asset
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Experience working with Excel, Word,
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willing to travel as required based on the location of current projects
