Job description
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Excellence & Operations Manager to join our Life Sciences team in Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality assurance in a cutting-edge industry.
**Your main responsibilities**:
**Subject Matter Expertise**: Provide expert advice on procurement operations, automation, and efficiency to improve processes and systems
**Continuous Improvement**: Lead efforts to identify and implement procurement process improvements, including automation and end-to-end solutions.
**Policy and Compliance**: Ensure compliance with regional procurement policies and support the implementation of process changes, audits, and system updates.
**System Optimization**: Manage the maintenance and enhancement of procurement systems, including inputting relevant data and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
**Collaboration and Innovation**: Collaborate with global teams to develop new tools, guide complex purchases, and address escalations from the Shared Service Center (SSC).

**Qualifications**:
**Education & Experience**: University degree (preferably in business or IT) with 5+ years in procurement, technology management, or process management, ideally in a matrix organization. Strong knowledge of procurement practices and systems.
**Skills**: Ability to explain and translate stakeholder requirements, understand local process variations while maintaining a global perspective, and lead/support value improvement programs using Lean Six Sigma or Agile methodologies.
**System Expertise**: Experience with procurement requisition, procure-to-pay, eSourcing tools, and enterprise systems.
**Mindset**: Action-oriented, enterprise-focused, collaborative, and open to experimentation, with a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement.
**Language**: Business-level English fluency (German is a plus).
