**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- NuBinary is expanding and we're seeking an exceptional Fractional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a robust focus on security and privacy. This unique opportunity is ideal for joining a team of highly-skilled, driven, and seasoned entrepreneurs and former CTOs. Our ties span the vibrant startup ecosystem of the Toronto-Waterloo corridor, offering a chance to assume the CTO role in various startups. This contractual role holds the potential for full-time engagement in the future.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related fields
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in IT security, data protection, and privacy practices
- Proven track record of leading or managing technical teams within a security-focused environment in startups
- Deep understanding of various security frameworks, standards, and guidelines
- Experience in risk assessment, security audit, and managing incident response
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls
- Strong background in managing Security-based projects

**REQUIRED SKILLS**:

- Deep knowledge of software architecture design patterns, with a focus on security-centric models
- Proven experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and end-to-end secure product development and deployment
- Experience with Agile Project management and Lean Startup methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

**GREAT TO HAVE**:

- CISSP certification or equivalent credentials in security and privacy, or willingness to obtain such certifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in software engineering or similar
- Security and privacy consulting or freelance experience with startups
- Previous experience as a technical co-founder of a startup

**LOCATION**: Based in Canada

**JOB TYPE**: Contract

**Hourly Rate**: 120 - 170 CAD
