**Job Summary**

Viacore Sudbury is seeking an experienced professional Quality Assurance Technician to execute complex tasks on project sites. This position contributes to Viacore’s reputation for safe and timely project execution and needs to work on large projects for rubber lining, molded rubber products and larger belt installation/splicing projects.

**Main Responsibilities**:
1. Inspection and Testing:

- Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Use various testing methods, including visual inspection, dimensional checks, and functional testing, to verify product quality.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

2. Documentation:

- Maintain detailed records of inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and update quality assurance documentation, including inspection protocols, test plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with regulatory and company standards.

3. Process Monitoring:

- Monitor production processes to ensure they adhere to quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct process audits and report findings to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with production teams to implement process improvements and optimize quality.

4. Problem Identification:

- Identify and report defects, deviations, and potential issues in products and processes.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to investigate root causes of quality issues.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality problems.

5. Compliance:

- Ensure products comply with industry regulations, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes that may impact quality requirements.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

6. Calibration:

- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance on quality assurance tools and equipment.
- Document calibration activities and maintain calibration records.

7. Reporting:

- Prepare comprehensive quality reports, summarizing inspection results, quality trends, and improvement initiatives.
- Present findings to management and recommend actions to enhance product quality.
- Track and analyze quality metrics to identify areas for improvement.

8. Training:

- Assist in developing and delivering quality training programs for production staff.
- Educate employees on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure consistent adherence to quality protocols.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum high school education is required; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
- Understanding of ISO Standards and previous experience working in an ISO quality environment
- Experience in rubber production and basic understanding of conveyor belting products is a major asset.
- Proficiency using a computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to interpret written reports, correspondence, instructions, technical specifications, and procedures along with the discretion and tact to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively present reports/recommendations and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers, and customers, when required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform accurate calculations and measurements
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with very little to no supervision.
