Childcare Chef

**Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- **Meal Preparation**:

- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks that meet dietary guidelines, food allergies, and the nutritional needs of young children.
- Ensure food is presented in an appealing and child-friendly manner.
- **Menu Planning**:

- Collaborate with management to develop weekly menus that comply with dietary restrictions, food safety standards, and cultural diversity.
- Incorporate seasonal ingredients and fresh produce whenever possible.
- **Food Safety and Hygiene**:

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow proper food storage, handling, and sanitation protocols.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure food supplies are well-stocked and properly labeled.
- **Compliance**:

- Adhere to all local health regulations and childcare food safety requirements.
- Keep records of food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and compliance checks.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with staff to ensure timely meal service for the children.
- Communicate with parents regarding special dietary needs or concerns.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience as a chef or cook in a school, daycare, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition, portion sizes, and dietary needs for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
- Certification in Food Safety/Handling (e.g., Safe Food Handling Certificate or equivalent).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with a positive and patient attitude.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
