Why is this role important?- What you'll do
- 1. As project owner, develops and implements project or work plans including, but not limited to the development/implementation of ICD-10-CA, CCI, ICD-11, SNOMED-CT mapping activities, client education, eQuery and/or other client support. Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, with high level of quality and client satisfaction.
- 2. Provides leadership and guidance to staff. Supervises, coaches, coordinates and monitors work, workload, and performance of staff to ensure that quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided. Conducts annual performance management reviews.
- 3. Identifies, recommends, and implements processes and activities to enhance the quality of the clinical data coming into, and within, CIHI’s databases, and all related outputs from those databases.
- 4. Establishes, coordinates, or supports ad hoc and standing committees within CIHI that depend on classifications and terminologies.
- 5. Establishes and maintains relevant professional contacts with various organizational bodies such as health regions/facilities, provincial/territorial/national/international associations, and other related agencies.
- 6. Promotes the organization, its products, and services, through participation on external committees, presentations and/or attendance at conferences, preparation of articles for publication and other activities as required.
- 7. Participates in the departments’ operational planning and budgeting processes.
- What you'll bring to the table
- Graduate of a recognized Health Information Management Program with current CHIM certification.
- Five years project management experience in a health environment.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of electronic health records and systems an asset.
- Thorough knowledge and experience working with provincial Ministries of health, health systems and health system planning.
- Experience in mentoring and supervising work teams.
- Liaison and committee membership experience at provincial and national levels.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership, planning, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with parallel reporting structures
- Strong presentation, verbal, and written skills.
- Innovative approach to change and modernization
- Ability to fulfil travel requirements.
- Fluency in both official languages an asset.
