**PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR**:
**Position Overview**:
Overall this position plays an integral role in managing critical infrastructure in the City of Woodstock by leading a team of Skilled Labourers and Operators in construction, maintenance, and environmental programs in all weather conditions, year round.

**Qualifications**:
To be considered, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

- Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma
- 3-5 years of experience in a Public Works environment
- 1-3 years of Supervisory experience
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Act in a professional manner when dealing with the Public, Council, and staff
- Certified Road Supervisor - CRS
- Level 1 Wastewater Collection Facility Operator License within 12 months and act as Overall Responsible Operator (ORO)
- Must be willing to obtain Joint Health and Safety Certification
- Valid DZ driver’s license

**Duties**:
This position manages, supervises, develops programs, and oversees day to day operations in areas including:

- Roads, Bridges, Streetlights, Curb and Sidewalk legislative maintenance monitored through Road Patrol
- Winter control operations and snow removal in accordance with provincial MMS legislation and corporate level of service policy.
- Solid Waste Collection program - garbage, bulk item and recycling, implementation, improvements and development
- Weed control and grass trimming
- Maintenance, construction projects and contracted work
- Sanitary sewer system maintenance and level of service adhearance.
- Storm sewer and drainage including Municipal Drains.
- Maintenance of Storm and Sanitary sewer systems, including structure replacement. (ie; maintenance holes, catchbasins, mains, laterals, and culverts)
- Traffic, Signs (Regulatory/Warning) and pavement marking installations and maintenance in accordance with Provicial Regulations and OTM (Ontario Traffic Manual) standards
- Leaf, brush and yard waste program implemention, improvements and development.
- Support for special events programs including parades, public events on evenings, weekends and holidays (Working outside of regular hours durring the events on Holidays and Weekends)
- Day to day operation and maintenance of the materials recovery facility site (Enviro Depot) and Transfer Station building, including dealing with customer that do not follow the Site rules and staff need higher level support.
- Project coordination, contract administration for contracted maintenance program
- Exploring new opportunities for continuous improvement and utilizing new technological advancements
