Royal City Animal Hospital is a leading and compassionate animal care facility dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary services. Our team of experienced professionals is committed to promoting the well-being of pets and fostering a positive environment for both clients and staff.
**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Safely and gently handle animals during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Provide basic care for hospitalized animals, including feeding, walking, and administering medications as directed.
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas for procedures. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of animal enclosures and hospital areas.
- Greet clients and assist with the check-in and check-out process. Communicate with clients regarding treatment plans, medications, and postoperative care. Answer client inquiries and provide information on general animal care.
- Handle phone calls and relay messages to the veterinary team. Schedule appointments and manage appointment calendars.
- Update and maintain patient records in the practice management system (AviMark).
- Collaborate with veterinary team members to ensure clear communication and coordination of patient care.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfortable working with a variety of animal species.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to continue working evenings & weekends during the school year
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
**Salary**: $17.50-$19.00 per hour
