**Team Lead, Farmers' Market - Part time**

This position is three days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). This position reports to the Property Manager. Reporting to the Team Lead, Farmers’ Market are the Customer Service staff (2) and any student/term positions at the Halifax Seaport Farmers Market.The Team Lead, Farmers’ Market provides direct support to the Property Manager coordinating the day-to-day aspects to the Farmers Market. The Team Lead, Farmers’ Market also coordinates with the various departments within the HSFM and the Halifax Port Authority (HPA) to ensure efficient operations of the Market and to maintain positive vendor relations.**Accountabilities**

**Vendor Relations & Communications**
- Contributes to external and internal communications.
- Co-ordinates the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market social media. This includes creating, posting, monitoring and replying.
- Administers all vendor product change request, maintains current occupancy/vacancy tracking of tables and responsible for market vendor map creation and placements.
- Coordinates with HPA staff and Farmers Market staff on Market layout, depending on events and operations in the Market location. This may involve a plan that includes cruise terminal operations when a cruise vessel is at port.

***Administration**
- Performs aspects of accounting administration including vendor invoicing, weekly and monthly billing (currently using QuickBooks) prepares and coordinates gift certificates and Nova Scotia Farmers Market incentive (e.g. loyalty program) documents for approval by others.
- Performs weekly payroll timesheet remittance, communications and coordination with the Halifax Port Authority’s Finance Department.
- Supervises the Market staff and staff schedule, including any temporary staff.
- Creates, reviews and proofs vendor and event agreements and other related documents. Seeks out prospective and new vendors for the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market, community tables, and market tours.

**Customer Service**
- Provides general information to customers and vendors.
- Staffs the customer service desk on weekends.
- Assists with implementation and enforcement of rules, guidelines, and procedures. Resolves vendor issues in a proactive manner.

**Other**
- Opens and closes the Market, as required.
- Acts as an event monitor, as required

**NOTE**: These are only the basic and primary duties; related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary to the Operation of the Farmers’ Market.**Qualification (Education and Experience)**
- A minimum of three (3) years of related experience is a customer service role including a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
- Strong customer service, conflict management experience and previous experience in a Farmer’s Market, customer service and or retail environment are assets.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and other internet-based tools is required.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service skills, and the ability to maintain cooperation and good working relationships.
- Professional interpersonal skills are required including experience working with a diverse set of clients.
- Must be able to effectively manage time, work independently, be self-motivated, and have the ability to multitask. and work well under pressure.
