**Position Purpose**
Research themes related to the period of history from early settlement to mid-20th century, specifically within the boundaries of the Town of Georgina, that can be translated into particular demonstrations, activities, crafts and games for children aged 7-12. These will then be delivered during several week-long sessions of summer camp at the Georgina Pioneer village. **_For full details, please see attach job description._**
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Possess experience working with children in an informal education and recreation setting and possess demonstrated research skills;
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check, deemed as satisfactory by the Town;
- Current Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR “C”;
- Applicants falling between ages of 15 years and 30 years are preferred in order to meet the Youth Eligibility Requirements for the Canada Summer Jobs Grant;

**Position Summary**
**Responsibilities**
- Researching themes related to the history of early settlement through to mid-20th century Georgina that can be translated into particular demonstrations, activities, crafts and games that explore these themes.
- Creating a program schedule that outlines how and when children ages 7-12 will participate in these demonstrations, activities, crafts and games;
- Creating supply lists for duration of programming that adhere to a budget;
- Preparing and set up of the demonstrations, activities and games in advance of the program date;
- Assisting and supervision of children ages 7-12 during each program session.
- Supporting the work of other programming staff by sharing resources and ideas whenever necessary;
- Provide a positive and safe recreational learning experience for the youth participating in the programs, including guidance through public health and safety precautions and procedures.
- Liaising with parents and guardians regarding their child’s participation status;
- Assisting other staff in the open and close routines and in maintaining the programming space and grounds;
- Compiling basic qualitative data on the programs being delivered that will be used to evaluate their success;
- Providing continual feedback to the employer regarding the employee's personal work experience and make viable recommendations on how to improve this experience in the future;

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Possess experience working with children in an informal education and recreation setting and possess demonstrated research skills.
- Familiarity with a museum, heritage, cultural, or non-profit organization, is an asset,
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- A valid driver's license or access to transportation is required as the museum is not on a public transportation route.
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check, deemed as satisfactory by the Town.
- Must possess current Standard First Aid/CPR “C” certificate, issued by a provider recognized by WSIB;
- Applicants must be between ages of 15 years and 30 years in order to meet the Youth Eligibility Requirements for the Canada Summer Jobs Grant;
