Lenz Rental is a motion picture camera rental company based in Ottawa. Our full inventory, including an extensive array of camera and support equipment, grows by the day. The team is happiest when they’re prepping with clients to help them get the most out of their fancy new rental with custom-tailored recommendations.

The prep technician is an essential part of the Lenz Rental ecosystem and the customer experience. This position is to be filled by someone who is detail oriented and dedicated to help assist the customer in any of their film preparation needs. The prep tech will report directly to the rental house Manager, CEO and the hours of work are Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide great customer service to camera assistants or any production technician coming in for prep or for pick-up.
- Assist the CSR in the building of quotes by providing them with the best information on the adequate gear for production needs.
- Build a solid knowledge of the equipment that the rental company owns but also be aware of other camera accessories, lighting, grip and any additional equipment or supplies that is standard to the industry in order to give the most adequate recommendations.
- Ensure that every piece of equipment required for any job or production is in proper functioning condition and properly assembled.
- Coordinate with the CSR to ensure that any subrentals requirements for a production are ordered and received in a timely manner.
- Test any pieces of equipment before they are being rented and after their rental.
- Ensure the proper organization of the gear, including labeling and compartmentalization.
- Communicate with the CSR regarding any equipment shortage.
- Communicate with the Rental house manager regarding any equipment damages or losses.
- Coordinate the shipping and receiving of sub-rental equipment as well as equipment purchased.
- Troubleshoot any gear issues that productions may have. This includes potentially going on production sets to provide assistance.

**Skills**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a camera rental house.
- Extensive knowledge of camera, lighting and grip equipment.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours/shifts when needed.
- Great communication skills
- Great customer service skills
- Must have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.
- Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully and exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
- Must be very detail-oriented and organized.
- Must be computer literate, Working knowledge of Rental Works software would be considered an asset.

**Salary**: $37,000.00 per year
