**We are currently hiring Temporary Plant Packager to join the team at our facility in Wynyard, Saskatchewan.**

Compass Minerals’ Wynyard Mechanical Evaporation Plant is located on Big Quill Lake. The plant is Canada’s largest producer of sulfate of potash (SOP). The site uses two unique processes to produce SOP: ion exchange process and glaserite process. SOP from this site is used for the pharmaceutical, medical, food and fertilizer industries, and other industrial uses.

The Wynyard Plant is located right on Big Quill Lake, in a friendly community of 1,800, situated 50 minutes from the city of Humboldt and a 2 hour drive from Saskatoon.

**HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM?**

This position is a labor position with heavy lifting and forklift operation. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment and palletizer and must provide accurate production reports. Must meet established production levels depending on product/bag configuration.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities **include but are not limited to the following: _(Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)_
- Support and participate actively in all site-level Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.
- Check production schedules. Determine that appropriate/adequate materials including bags, pallets and slipsheets are available.
- Analyze functional deficiencies and make the appropriate mechanical adjustments, which will optimize production capabilities and minimize machine downtime.
- Responsible for starting machine operation.
- Continually monitor the machine production efficiency. Ensure bags are loaded, sealed, moved, and palletized in alignment with production and quality requirements.
- Record product, packaging, and other information on specified forms with accuracy.
- Load and unload materials as required.
- Maintain the equipment in a safe working condition and follow all safety rules in the operation of the machine.
- Maintain a clean work area including the bagger, palletizer, forklift, and all related equipment.
- Clear minor jams as needed. Promptly report problems including programming, electrical, or mechanical complications to the Maintenance Department and/or Operations Department for resolution.
- Must be able to support and cover different day and night shifts.
- Be able to learn and operate both Ion Exchange and Glaserite process systems and contribute as a cross-functional Operations team member.

- Must have a valid SK driver’s license and be able to provide a driver’s abstract. Proficiency in simple mathematics is a definite asset. Basic shop skills such as using hand tools.

**Education and Experience**: High school diploma. Experience successfully operating production machinery.

**Computer Skills**:Able to use HMI screens when needed. Able to use a printer and its software.
