**PRODUCTION TESTING TECHNICIAN**
We are looking for a skilled Production Testing Technician to join the Simson-Maxwell team.
Simson-Maxwell has been selling industrial solutions for over 80 years and is a leading Canadian Company in manufacturing, sales and service of standby and prime power generator systems and industrial engine solutions. **POSITION OVERVIEW**
The Production Testing Technician will provide support to the Production & Project Team.
**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
- Salary range: $35 - $46 per hour
- Base salary rate commensurate with experience.

**RELATIONSHIPS**
The Production Testing Technician of Simson Maxwell will develop and maintain good business and/or working relationships with the following:
- Customers.
- Sub-contractors.
- Coordinators, Director - Projects & Production Operations, Service Manager, Technicians, Project Manager.
- Other Simson Maxwell Staff.

**DESCRIPTION**
In this role, you will contribute in the following ways:
- General_
- Take part in all required training and upgrading.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
- Accurate completion of production/project reports and timecards.
- Diagnose defects and failures in heavy equipment, engines, or generators.
- May disconnect and reconnect system components for servicing purposes. This and other assigned tasks will require the Technician to be able to move or lift up to fifty pounds.
- May provide technical training to customers to ensure proper operation of their system hardware.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service.
- Production_
- Mechanical assembling and wiring of Power Generators.
- Assist with QAQC procurement on all Production Units (Mechanical & Electrical Inspections).
- Populate ITPs (Inspection & Testing Plans) and detailed testing reports.
- Prepare & test generator load tests.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical or electrical engine components & accessories.
- Configure/program on, but not limited to ComAp and Deepsea controls.
- Perform customer-witnessed Factory Acceptance Test.
- Participate and provide technical feedback with documented files & redline drawings.
- Safety_
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
**IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTES**

- Solid Safety Awareness.
- Preferred dual ticketed (not mandatory): Journeyman Designation Mechanical (HET or Diesel Engine) & Electrician.
- Experience in testing & troubleshooting with various diesel & gas power nodes.
- Clear Drug and Alcohol test results.
- Good understanding of A/C power.
- Comfortable working and testing on or around components where live voltage may be present.
- Proven abilities in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of schematics and diagnostics flow charts.
- Ability to work independently.
