Accountable to develop and implement policies, programs and strategies that ensure SaskTel's ability to recruit, support, develop and retain the employees it needs for long term success. Acts as an internal consultant, establishing trusted relationships with clients, analyzing their needs, determining solutions, and providing guidance on workforce planning policies, strategies, initiatives, culture, engagement, and awards. Provides leadership and expertise in human resource management which contributes to the strategic development of organizational capacity and individual capability. This position impacts all areas of Human Resources by identifying and implementing strategy. Conducts research and provides written reports on a project-by-project basis. Works with internal clients and external sources to assist with the gathering and compilation of workforce, culture, and engagement data; conducts data analysis and makes recommendations.
**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES**
1. Accountable to develop and implement policies, programs, and strategies that ensure SaskTel can recruit, support, develop and retain the employees it needs for long term success.
2. Proactively identifies the workforce requirements of the future (e.g. culture, engagement, knowledge, skills and abilities required to support corporate strategic plan and division plans) through consultation with VP's, Directors and Managers.
4. Responsible for providing HR expertise and consultation as required on strategic workforce planning, culture and engagement initiatives to all SaskTel groups and other HR managers.
5. Facilitates departmental business planning workshops and the development of departmental and team work plans in order to provide strategic direction for the functional teams within HR.
6. Project manages the implementation of workforce planning, culture, and engagement initiatives. Provides status reports and key success metrics to determine effectiveness of programs and ensure a positive internal customer experience.
7. Utilizes a consulting approach to establish trusted relationships with clients, analyze their needs, determine solutions, and provide guidance on workforce planning, culture and engagement policies, strategies, and initiatives.
8. Acts as a trusted and confidential third party and deals with highly sensitive issues, engaging with all levels to address challenges within the work environment through confidential interviews, focus groups, analysis, and recommendations.
9. Designs, develops, and analyzes external labour market, industry research, and internal workforce data to create HR data reports and statistical information. Develops and compiles HR metrics and benchmarks, monitors results, and identifies trends, prepares reports, communicates results and makes recommendations.
10.Creates and executes on industry award submissions to foster SaskTel's employment brand to attract and retain the best employees.
11.Contributes to the long-term growth and profitability of SaskTel by leading or participating in various internal management meetings and committees, providing input and assistance as appropriate.
12.Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of current concepts, trends and best practices in Strategic Workforce Planning, Culture, Engagement, Awards, and HR Metrics and Benchmarking. Through research, analysis, and evaluation, enhances and improves the effectiveness of
existing planning processes and the development and implementation of new corporate HR strategies, initiatives, and metrics.
13.Creates and executes on the development of ongoing communication activities to develop and maintain a high level of employee awareness and satisfaction related to strategic workforce planning, culture, engagement, and awards.
14.Assembles multi-division or cross-department teams as required and provides overall project management.
