The Palliative and End of Life Care Portfolio's Vision is for All adults in the Calgary Zone to have access to excellent sustainable integrated advance care planning, palliative and hospice care, and bereavement support This is a unique opportunity to be a leader within the portfolio contributing to the vision and leading two of the portfolio's integral programs, with highly skilled, passionate and dynamic teams, in ensuring that optimal delivery of care is provided. This Position is a key leadership role within the Calgary Zone’s Palliative/End of Life Care Portfolio (PEOLC) reporting to the Director, Palliative/End of Life Care. Within the portfolio The Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Portfolio’s Grief Support Counselling and Advance Care Planning/Goals of Care (ACP/GCD) Programs. The Manager takes a leadership role in strategic planning processes and implementation of program quality initiatives supported by respectful and evidence informed clinical and business standards to ensure safe clinical care and in ensuring an inclusive and positive team environment. Key responsibilities of the role include recruitment and selection, fiscally responsible staffing, supporting patient and staff experience and quality improvement.
Description:
The manager is responsible for leading the delivery of the Grief Support Program’s trauma informed individual and group clinical counselling services to meet the complexity and diversity of the bereavement counselling program and the program’s educational and volunteer services. This position is responsible for the effective and efficient provision of all clinical counselling services including the supervision of all multidisciplinary staff including recruitment, retention, performance evaluation activities and efficient utilization of human resources. This position also includes the oversight of the recruitment, training and supervision of all volunteers affiliated with the Program. This Position is also responsible and accountable for the leading the Calgary Zone’s ACP/GCD program. This includes oversight of program staff and budget and the strategic and innovative development and implementation of initiatives to improve integration that support the full integration of both advance care planning and goals of care designation processes across all health sectors.

**Required Qualifications**:
A Master's Degree required. Health care professional certification/ designation required. A minimum of 2 years with leadership experience.
