The Billing and Export Clerk role helps administer the operational timber pricing of all crown timber harvested or transacted within the Coast Forest Region of British Columbia.

The position is primarily responsible for: (a) processing information and generating forest revenue invoices to enable the government to bill forest clients for revenue owed under the Forest Act; (b) administering the log export program; and (c) administering the marine log salvage program.

Timber harvested or transacted in the province is measured by weight, piece scale, or timber cruise. With regards to invoice billing, the Government of British Columbia collects revenue relating to: (a) stumpage for crown timber that is harvested; (b) waste for crown timber that was not extracted from a cutblock; (c) marine log salvage activity; and (d) the fee in-lieu of manufacturing for raw logs exported from the province. Other activities may include penalty billing.

With regards to Marine Log Salvage, billing staff are responsible for the issuance of salvage licences and associated marine log salvage hammer marks.
