Delta, Canada Foundation Building Materials Full time

**Foundation Building Materials (FBM)**, is currently seeking a skilled **Purchaser **for our Delta, BC location.

The **Purchaser** **is a talented individual that can source the appropriate vendors while pursuing** cost effective purchasing. Upholding availability of materials, supplies, equipment and services utilized by the company and customers.

**Essential Functions/Qualifications**:

- Maintain adequate inventory levels and non-stock product for all operations; ensure inventory meets operational requirements.
- Negotiate and administer purchase with suppliers and vendors.
- Adheres to the purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
- Responsible for preparation in entering and administering purchase orders with accurate material descriptions, cost coding, pricing, and other appropriate data.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for adherence to company policy.
- Manage inventory through purchasing and quality control functions; including daily cycle counts.
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
- Schedule inbound deliveries
- Stay current and communicate on market conditions, industry trends and new product information.
- Work closely with the Warehouse to make sure all of the product has arrived in great condition.
- Track delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
- Assist sales personnel when needed
- Maintain knowledge of management software
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Preferred experience within the construction industry
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

**Skills**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years purchasing experience (industry related preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- **Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Adobe, and related software.**

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
