The After Hours Clinical Administrator, reporting to the Manager of Patient Flow and liaising with the Support Services Supervisors, as well as the Senior Leadership Team is responsible for providing on-site afterhours support (evenings, weekends, stat holidays) in collaboration with Administrative teams. This role is accountable for the redirection of health human resources, patient flow decisions, utilization issues, interpretation of relevant policies and protocols related to occupancy, staffing levels, and bed management. The After Hours Clinical Administrator is also responsible for providing after hours direction for support services, staff management and patient and family relation matters. This position will liaise with departmental (clinical and corporate) and service leads as needed.
**Position Requirements**:
- Current certificate of Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario or Allied Health Professional designation.
- Minimum five (5) years working in an acute care hospital
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Management/Leadership experience and/or education considered an asset
- Proven significant hospital experience with a varied healthcare background
- Proven recent supervisory/leadership, conflict resolution, critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Knowledge in resource allocation, funding implications, organizational goals and priority setting
- Strong computer knowledge - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Successfully able to perform their function in accordance with prescribed standards that focuses on the priority of People Safety and the delivery of the highest standard of Quality Care.
- Demonstrate the physical and mental capabilities necessary for proper and efficient performance of the essential duties of the position.
**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS**
- Recent supervisor experience in a bed flow in a hospital setting
- Certified member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
