This employment opportunity is restricted to Nunavut Inuit who reside in Iqaluit only.
Reporting to the Manager, Community Wellness Programs, the main role of the Junior Wellness Programs Officer (JWPO) is to contribute to the success of the community-based health programs and other special projects as required by supporting in the planning, development and delivery of projects undertaken by the section. The JWPO also supports the effective operation of the Programs by providing logístical and program support to the Manager and other members within the Community Wellness Programs.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized High School Diploma along with two (2) years of program administrative experience preferably in an office setting.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
