The Regional Director leads the North & East GTA Stroke Network, focusing regional partners across the continuum of stroke care to advance the collective vision, mission, and strategic directions for the Toronto Stroke Networks. The Director delivers on the mandate of the Regional Stroke Centre’s system responsibilities in consultation with the Regional Stroke Networks’ Executive Committee. The Director leads, collaborates with, and influences key system partners to improve access, efficiency and quality of stroke services and outcomes for all stroke patients within the region. The Director is responsible for the regional planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of an integrated system of stroke care that is cross-continuum, based on best practices and informed by data. The Director fosters strong relationships with care partners across the continuum (e.g., primary care, secondary prevention, pre-hospital services, emergency, acute care, rehabilitation, community services) and system partners at the provincial, regional, district and community levels, including key relationships with Ontario Health and associated bodies.

The Director leads a team of regional staff, develops and implements an education plan to support knowledge translation and demonstrates achievement of results based on defined performance measures. The role demands strong leadership that is characterized by (a) a systems approach achieved through collaboration (b) an ability to liaise with and meet the expectations of many diverse groups of stakeholders, and (c) creativity and innovation to address health system issues.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Regulated Health Professional preferred
- Masters’ degree completed or in progress in a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience in stroke care Minimum of five years’ experience in the health care system with significant management and project experience
- Functions with mínimal direction working toward system objectives using concepts, principles and broad guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to lead and successfully implement change
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships and support collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and external regional partners
- Demonstrated success in contributing to effective teamwork
- Previous experience in program evaluation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple groups and stakeholders
- Strong initiative with exceptional organizational skills to manage competing priorities and balance multiple projects
- Superior analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Competent in the use of computer software, including spreadsheets (analysis) and presentations
