At the North Bay Jack Garland Airport Corp., we ensure that local businesses as well as the residents of North Bay and surrounding communities always have access to a premiere and unique regional commercial airport. Located in North Bay, we operate the airport as a part of critically important municipal infrastructure, directly supporting numerous companies and hundreds of aviation related jobs onsite every day.

**What is your next role**:
As a key member of the Airport Operations team, the **MDO** will report directly to the Operations Manager, and will be responsible for keeping all the facilities in a great working order; ensuring year round maintenance and access to the airport’s many facilities and infrastructure. This position operates a variety of heavy equipment and completes hands-on tasks to maintain the airport airside and groundside surfaces; performs general repairs and preventative maintenance work on all airport surfaces, buildings, facilities and equipment, as well as
- Inspects all equipment for mechanical defects and safety on a regular basis and report any mechanical attention required; taking action to resolve minor maintenance items independently
- Report safety concerns to management. Submit irregularities and deficiencies if required.
- Complete inspections of assigned areas of responsibility including equipment, tools, PPE, etc.
- Following on-the-job training:

- Conducts regular airfield inspections and complete runway surface condition reports with runway friction measurements as required to support year round operations
- Snow removal and associated clean-up, vegetation cutting removal, wildlife control and management

- Ability to work through tasks which require physical effort in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written; fluent in English.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multitasks and works well under pressure with deadlines.
- Work well with others, both as part of the team and progressively leading the team through tasks.
- Capable of working independently with initiative and mínimal supervision; results focused.
- Capable of working around and operating heavy equipment in a proven safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to undertake preliminary troubleshooting and routine minor equipment maintenance (monitoring wear and taking action to resolve, changing consumable components, and maintaining cleanliness or washing)
- Willingness to undertake varied work that supports the continued operations of all facilities but may not use heavy equipment (fence repairs, surface line painting, crack sealing, general building maintenance repairs)
