**Description**:
Reporting to Legal Counsel within the Office of University Counsel (OUC) and working closely with the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life and/or the Office of the Vice-President and Provost, the Legal Coordinator, Academic Integrity provides confidential legal and administrative coordination services in relation to student academic discipline matters that require legal support. The Incumbent is responsible for the effective management of dispute resolution files, as assigned, which arise throughout the Office of University Counsel, with particular emphasis on the efficient and timely management of academic discipline matters referred to the Provost by divisions.

Key responsibilities include: briefing Legal Counsel on issues as they arise, including identifying priorities and, where appropriate, recommending next steps; providing support on academic discipline matters; gathering data and records and analyzing materials in relation to on-going or up-coming matters; liaising between internal contacts and external counsel with respect to record collection, information gathering, and scheduling for on-going or up-coming matters; diarizing and advising legal counsel of deadlines and file progress; maintaining a confidential legal filing and monitoring system; responding to inquiries involving the interpretation of University policies and procedures; supporting Legal Counsel on policy issues and initiatives as needed, with an emphasis on matters relating to student academic misconduct.

The incumbent works closely with the Office Manager and the administrative support team within the OUC in administering the operation of the OUC, and supports team initiatives and projects, as requested.

**Qualifications Required**:
**I. EDUCATION**:
College Diploma in law clerk program, or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated high level of efficiency and independence in providing support to legal counsel. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proficiency in producing briefing notes as appropriate for leadership at the University. Demonstrated skills at gathering information via meetings and written exchanges. Ability to maintain a high level of organization with a high volume of files involving complex information and multiple stakeholders. Ability to prioritize, complete tasks and produce deliverables of a consistently high quality on time and with mínimal supervision and demonstrate progressively improving problem-solving skills. Excellent skills in written communication and research. Superior analytical and organizational skills. Impeccable attention to detail.

**IV. OTHER**:
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of people. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to take initiative and effectively deal with a variety of tasks and strict deadlines, including adjusting priorities.
