**Job Summary**:
We are currently looking for a Financial Controller to join our team. Reporting to and working closely with the CFO, this is a hands-on role with core responsibilities including, but not limited to:

- **Financial reporting**:Monthly reporting of two entities under IFRS, including preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements, preparation of quarterly public company reporting, and other reporting to external stakeholders as needed. This includes preparation of monthly accounting entries and supporting the finance team.
- **Management reporting**:Preparation of and reporting against budgets and forecasts, trend reporting, developing and reporting against KPIs, and communicating results internally.
- **Team management**:Managing the finance team, including calendaring and communicating deadlines, delegating tasks, reviewing monthly working papers, and providing feedback, mentorship and support.
- **Systems management/improvement**:Use of NetSuite ERP software for financial reporting in conjunction with Excel and/or PowerBI, including creating new workbooks and presentations.
- **Treasury**:Working with the team to monitor cash flow position and expected cash movements through collection and payment of AR and AP.
- **Management of Accounting Processes**:Oversee accounts receivable and payables cycles and ensure relevant internal controls are being followed in the accounting and reporting processes.
- **External liaison**:Coordinate and collaborate with external preparers, including financial auditors, tax preparers and SR&ED preparers.
- **Human Resources**:Oversee payroll process and ensure proper documentation/reconciliation

**Required skills and experience**:

- CPA (or legacy) designation in good standing, or near completion
- 5+ years’ experience in progressive accounting roles
- Strong Excel skills, beneficial if includes exposure to PowerQuery
- Ability to prioritize appropriately when facing competing demands
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- Experience with IFRS financial statements, including preparation within Excel

**Additional beneficial skills**:

- Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes, systems, and controls
- Experience with NetSuite accounting software
- Experience with companies in manufacturing and/or with inventory
- Experience in working with and creating PowerBI reports
- Experience with Public Company reporting

**More details**:

- Starting ASAP, ideally by April 1st
- Full time, Monday - Friday
- Standard hours are 8:30 - 4:30, with flexibility.
