We are currently seeking a passionate individual to join our HR Department as an **HR Advisor**. This full
- time position will start in** October 2024** and will be working on-site at the Windsor Park location
(occasional travel between all school locations within Calgary). The hours of work are 8 AM - 4 PM
(Monday to Friday). It is a condition of employment at Providence that all employees are vaccinated
against COVID-19.
**Position Summary**:
Working under the direction of the HR Manager, the **HR Advisor** supports the effective development and
delivery of HR/payroll operations including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and
benefits, training and development, etc. Provide full cycle support to the HR and payroll initiatives. This
position requires strong working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards and legislation.

- Detail-oriented and organized. With strong prioritization, decision making and follow-up skills
- Computer and numerical literacy, comfortable working with databases and metrics.
- Strong verbal communication skills. Excellent written communication skills -includes day to day
communication, preparation of HR letters, reports, and statistical data.
- Must be flexible to work outside of their scheduled hours for meetings, Providence related events,
etc. This position requires driving between school sites within Calgary.
**Responsibilities Include**:
- Support with employee relations, including but not limited to workplace conflict resolution, discipline,
and attendance management.
- Work with the HR Manager to support and counsel supervisors on disability management,
performance management, probationary reviews and co-ordinated return to work plans.
- Provide guidance to workers and managers on the interpretation of Human Resources related policies
and employment legislation, monitor compliance.
- Collaborate with HR Manager in creating workforce metrics and reports (e.g., health and safety,
learning and development, surveys, exit interviews) to help generate insights into HR related data
trends of the organization.
- Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist with recruitment and onboarding process - conducting initial
- Create, modify and review all employee related documentation, including job descriptions
- Support the HR Manager with development of employee resource material as and when required.
- Support with HR/payroll related tasks such as benefits administration and management, WCB claims
and reporting, offboarding processes, etc.
- Assist payroll with the ad-hoc processes as required in Sparkrock 365 (payroll system).
- Work closely Sparkrock (HR and payroll system) customer support team to troubleshoot any issues or
concerns with the system. Work towards achieving solutions to unforeseen issues on the system.
**Qualifications**:
- Must hold a recognized Human Resources designation, such as Bachelor’s degree in Human
Resources, business or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ relevant HR operations experience, including talent acquisition and
employee relations.
- Must have own vehicle, possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and $2,000,000 liability insurance. Able
to travel between all school sites.
- Experience in a range of workforce strategies and programs (e.g., workforce planning, compensation,
performance management)
- Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with
HRIS software preferred. Experience with Sparkrock 365 ERP system is an asset, knowledge with other
payroll systems is preferred.
