**Position**: Manager, Financial Strategy & Business Advisory
**Reports to**: Chief Finance and Administration Officer

**Job Purpose**:
This is an exciting opportunity for a curious, data-driven, strategic thinker who has a passion for both financial strategy and team development. The Manager of Financial Strategy & Business Advisory is responsible for partnering with leaders at all levels to provide business advisory and financial strategy to help steward WVC resources while building up a business advisory Agile team. You will bridge strategic plans and goals to financial plans through financial modeling, resource allocations, and investment assessment processes.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Organization-wide Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Working closely with the Finance leadership team and the Senior Leadership Team, oversee the development, continuous improvement and integration of financial forecasting with strategic and operational planning across the organization
- Act as the key linkage between financial planning and organizational strategy by collaborating closely with VPs, Directors, and Managers through financial modeling and forecasting to support strategic decisions and identifying gaps and recommendations
- Understand business drivers and develop key assumptions/variables in financial models to inform go-to-market initiatives/forecasts and identify gaps and solutions
- Drive greater organizational effectiveness through the provision of business advisory to internal client groups, supporting the development of plans with direct ties to financial implications, and target-setting in financial forecasting
- Contribute to the development of new business models through business advisory, research of market potential, establishment of key business drivers, financial modelling and scenario planning
- Develop, maintain and improve upon the tools, data and methodologies used to produce long term forecasts, including financial models, databases and data tools that are essential for operational and financial forecasting
- Lead transformation of resource allocation practices to support the organization’s Agile journey
- Lead analysis projects to provide insights on external landscape, benchmark metrics, business and financial trends and communicate insights to the senior leaders to drive strategic choices
- Lead initiatives to provide analysis and insight to specific areas of the organization on cost trends, efficiency metrics against benchmarks to identify areas of focus and improvement
- Recommend financial guardrails that would protect long-term sustainability of the organization.
- In conjunction with the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and Finance leadership team, effect chosen scenarios of financial forecasting in annual budgets through target-setting and resource allocation
Servant-leader and Coach of the Business Advisory Team
- Responsible for professional development, coaching, and performance of the Financial & Business Advisory team (currently three business advisors):
- Establish and sustain a strong team culture, positive empowerment and a passion for quality client service with financial rigor in all areas of interaction
- Increase capacity for business and financial analysis skills, analytical insight, client-service excellence and innovative thinking
- Actively seek to build strong cross-functional partnerships with ministry function leaders to establish the role of business advisory and financial strategy within business planning processes
Other Duties and Opportunities
- Help communicate and champion the WVC stewardship core value through all interactions

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA preferred.
- 6 years of management accounting, business strategy development or business consultation with a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience
