Our mandate is to introduce the next generation of donors, volunteers, and sponsors to the Special Olympics movement through integrated social and sporting events across the country We are a small team made up of seven passionate individuals who are dedicated to building a better community through the power of sport. We are looking to add to our team and provide a unique learning opportunity. We wear multiple hats and offer a very supportive team oriented work space. Our office environment is casual and we offer flexible working hours. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a driven and energetic self-starter for our current opening- Intern, Events. Reporting to a motionball Associate Manager, this position will mainly be responsible for providing support to execute a variety of top scale fundraising events across the country geared towards philanthropic young professionals and university students. An honorarium provided at the end of the completed term. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Provide pre-event support for all major upcoming motionball events including the ● motionball Toronto Gala, motionball’s National Annual General Meeting, 30 motionballU events, and more. ● Onsite support at local events (where applicable)● Work closely with our team to update the motionball website to reflect current and upcoming events across Canada. ● Assist in the creation of marketing materials such as event brochures and signage ● Assist with various administrative duties including shipping, inventory, sorting event materials, etc. ● Assist in communication with motionball volunteers ● Support all motionball staff as needed SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS ● Currently enrolled in University or College program, or a recent graduate looking to gain experience in fundraising or events ● Experience in event management or fundraising ● Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be able to interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner ● Ability to adapt to a fast paced and small team environment ● Keen analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to take initiative ● Ability to multitask, work in a high-pressure environment and meet required deadlines ● Strong problem solving and strategic thinking ● Work outside of typical office hours, as needed per event
