Job Title: Datastage Developer Location : Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days a week in the office) Industry : Banking Contract Type : Full-time / Contract Overview: We are seeking a skilled Datastage Developer to join our banking client’s dynamic IT team. In this role, you will work on developing, managing, and maintaining ETL processes using IBM DataStage to handle large-scale data integration for financial systems. This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days a week in the office and the remaining days can be worked remotely. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using IBM DataStage . Integrate data from multiple sources (structured and unstructured) into data warehouses or data lakes . Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver optimal solutions. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across different systems. Perform data cleansing, transformation , and loading processes (ETL). Optimize performance of existing ETL processes to handle large volumes of data. Collaborate with team members on troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving data-related issues. Maintain documentation of DataStage development processes and workflows. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices for ETL development and data integration . Skills and Qualifications: Strong experience in IBM DataStage development, including job design, data transformations, and parallel jobs. Proficient in SQL , PL/SQL , and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.). Hands-on experience with data integration and ETL processes . Experience in the banking/financial sector is a plus. Knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting for automation and job scheduling. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with other data tools (e.g., Informatica , Talend , SSIS ) is an advantage. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Engineering , or a related field. 8+ years of experience as a Datastage Developer or similar roles. Experience working in agile or waterfall project environments.
